Trasmar was founded in 1981 by Massimo Scarparo as a result of his experience in the seafaring and shipbuilding sector gained working for Fincantieri (former Breda) and his great passion for scuba diving. This strong interest led Massimo to take up a professional path at the “Marco Polo” diving school in Rome where he obtained the professional diver certification. This result allowed him to start, together with other partners, a business specialized in maritime transport and underwater and maritime jobs: Trasmar, a company that quickly became one of the main players of the sector present in the Port of Venice.

Over the years the two brothers Andrea and Alessandro Scarparo also joined the company after their studies at the Naval Institutes followed by the military national service with the Italian Navy and their experience gained on board of vessels, while their sister Antonietta has always held the reins in the accounting office.

Thanks to the two brothers’ contribution, the company professional skills have become wider and stronger and over the years the “family” element turned out to be fundamental for the development of the company that today can also count on Massimo’s sons, which continue with pride and professionalism their father’s project.

With time and experience Trasmar succeeded in establishing a solid relationship based on mutual trust and respect with the main maritime agencies, also thanks to the 24/7 service that aims to meet all clients’ needs.

Trasmar, besides counting on a team of professionals with updated skills, is provided with an ever-expanding fleet of vehicles composed of motorboats, speedboats, pusher tugs, tugboats, pontoons of various sizes and equipped with cranes

Our certifications

For the over mentioned activities, Trasmar is regularly listed in the Venice and Chioggia Port Authority registers in compliance with art. 68 of the Navigation Code and it is qualified and certified both by RINA and by all surveyor naval registers as D.N.V. – GL, Lloyd’s Register, NKK, ABS e Bureau Veritas.
